Pre-internet, you could simply monitor the inbound mail of a deceased loved one where mailed bank statements, insurance policy information, etc. would notify you of their existence. With today's reliance on electronically delivered documents, this no longer works. Imagine you took the prudent step of obtaining life insurance to protect your loved ones, but upon your passing they were unaware it existed, let alone where to find it.

WhereToLook is simple to use. Fill out the above form, print the created document, write in your information, tell a loved one where the document is located if it is ever needed ("It's in my nightstand.")

No. WhereToLook was specifically designed to keep your personal information safely offline (ex: who you bank with.) This is for your protection, as you keep your confidential information offline by writing in the applicable answers by hand after you've printed out your WhereToLook document.

It is suggested you update your WhereToLook document at least once per year, as your financial circumstances will likely evolve over time.

You can store the document wherever you want. The key is to make sure a loved one knows where it is located if it is ever needed ("It is in my nightstand.")
